Privacy Policy

Based on regulatory guidelines for Registered Investment Advisers (RIAs), including state-registered firms under the DFPI and general SEC rules that states commonly adopt, here is a checklist of the required disclosures and disclaimers for our firm's website:

1. Registration Status & Jurisdiction Disclaimer

  • You must clearly state that Lone Wolf Wealth Management is a registered investment adviser.

  • You must disclose the specific states (e.g., California) where the firm is registered or qualifies for an exemption.

  • You should include a statement clarifying that the firm may only transact business or offer advisory services in states where it is appropriately registered, excluded, or exempted from registration requirements.

2. Form ADV and Form CRS Availability

  • Form ADV Part 2A (Firm Brochure): You should provide a prominent link to our most recent Form ADV Part 2A or include instructions on how clients can request a copy.

  • Form CRS (Customer Relationship Summary): If we serve retail investors, a link to our Form CRS (also known as Form ADV Part 3) must be posted prominently on the website.

  • IAPD Link: It is highly recommended to include a link to the SEC’s Investment Adviser Public Disclosure (IAPD) website (adviserinfo.sec.gov) so visitors can look up our firm's CRD number (340537).

3. "Informational Purposes Only" Disclaimer

  • The website must include wording specifying that the information provided is for educational and informational purposes only.

  • It must state that the website content does not constitute personalized financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, nor is it a solicitation or offer to buy or sell any securities.

4. Privacy Policy

  • Under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), we must provide a clear and conspicuous link to our Privacy Policy (typically placed in the website footer).

  • The policy must outline what nonpublic personal information we collect, how it is protected, who we share it with, and how consumers can opt out of information sharing.

5. Performance & Marketing Disclosures (SEC Marketing Rule)

  • Past Performance: If the website displays any performance data or charts, it must include a prominent disclaimer stating that "past performance does not guarantee future results" and that investing involves the risk of loss.

  • Testimonials and Endorsements: If you use client testimonials, third-party ratings, or influencer endorsements, you must clearly and prominently disclose:

    • Whether the person giving the testimonial/endorsement is a current client.

    • Whether they were compensated (in cash or non-cash).

    • Any material conflicts of interest related to their endorsement.

6. Third-Party Content and Links Disclaimer

  • If our website links to outside articles, market data, or third-party portals, we must include a disclaimer stating that we do not warrant or guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of third-party information and are not liable for any errors or delays in that content.
